Her selection amongst the nominees for Broadway musical Tony Awards 2019 has made her the first-ever Actress in a wheelchair to earn a nomination.
She has been nominated for her vivacious & exuberant role as Ado Annie in the hit Broadway Musical- Oklahoma, which is also known as “Wokelahoma”.
The musical, essentially, is an enlivening remake of the Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic. It features a gallant, opulence-seeker & optimistic girl with an impressive voice & unapologetic mind-set– darting across the stage.

Actress Ali Stroker, who has intriguingly made her place amongst the list of nominees for Tony Awards 2019 , got paralyzed in a car accident at the tender age of 2 years.
But the strong & vivacious Ali did not let the adversity come in the way to her dreams. She amazed the world when she scheduled her very first musical theatre gig at the age of 7. Singing has always invigorated her & stirred a notion of liberty in her.
Ali was introduced to the musical world in year 2012, when she was casted in the second season of “The Glee Project”. Soon, Ali was selected for a featured role on the renowned TV Musical named as “Glee”.
The Actress left an imperishable imprint on the hearts of music-lovers when she became first actress on wheel-chair to perform in Broadway musical -Spring Awakening in 2015.
And now, the 31-years old Actress Ali Stroker is winning hearts as Ado Annie of Oklahoma.
She watched year 1955’s film version of “Can’t Say No” & states that it is a paean that encourages you to live your life to the fullest. The song is the very notion of what Ali strives to live by.
The wheel-chair is the material representation of the challenges the actress has faced. However, she has always felt that the wheel-chair has opened myriad of doors of opportunities & closed the doors that were not meant for her.
